Posted 30 October 2012 by Aynsley Van Der MerweI’m sure we have all seen and, in some cases, fallen for the sneaky, pointless viral links circulating Facebook more and more often these days. They go like this: “1. Click on Photo, 2. Comment Jump 3. See what happens.” What happens? Nothing!
This is a sneaky tactic to make cyber scammers rich. These pages collect a huge number of ‘likes’, and are then sold to businesses which ride on the falsely inflated popularity. Facebook uses likes, shares and comments as a form of currency to evaluate the amount of exposure it deserves.
